The ride out began with a Beautiful Sky and Smooth Waters, setting the scene for an awesome 1st stop of fishing. Of course the American Red Snapper and Gag Grouper got the message that they were out of season, so the slobs showed up for a mighty feast giving our anglers some nice fighting moments before saying goodbye. Not to be outdone, huge Mango’s and Yellowtail snapper fought their way on to the boat with no chance of returning for seconds.

After pushing further offshore, Saturday was filled with wrestling some nice sized Red Grouper, more Mango’s and Amberjack. Of course beautifully sized ARS and Gag grouper showed up again, this time in numbers to taunt the fisherman some more, but they wrangled them in, savoring the battle and sent them back promising sweet vengeance come the summer.

Although the winds picked up after a gorgeous sunset Saturday, there was still a steady pick throughout the night with yellow tail returning to the action. This trip the Hefty Mango’s were no doubt the star of the show throughout, even though all fish kept were of substantial size. One of the many benefits of fishing in the deeper waters of the 20 fathom line!

Happy Fishing!
