Today’s half day trip marked an important milestone for our very own Captain James Stewart.

This was his very first trip on his own as acting Captain. At his side was Mike and a nice bunch of eager passengers. Even a happy bunch of dolphin seem to be cheering him on as he made it out of the channel.

Fishing in about 35 feet of water, the catch was pretty darn good. Lots of Grunt, a few Mangrove Snapper as well as a couple throw back Grouper. A monster nurse Shark was also hooked and safely released.

The trip ended with a what seemed to be a perfectly timed storm. As Captain James brought in the Gulfstar, the wind was howling and the rain was pounding.  And just as expected, he did a flawless job of docking!

Way to go James!
