AWESOME fishing today! Capt. Rich made a last minute decision to make this a “one per person” permit trip. He gave the crew thirteen tags for each of the reservations. Only eleven showed.
So Captain Mitch made the last stop interesting by announcing that the first two fisherman to bring in a Gag will get to keep them. (this took care of the last two permits)
Now, backing things up. A twelve hour trip with five stops made. 45-50 feet of water.
SO many Grouper were caught. including Reds. Mitch reports that about seventeen Gags had to be thrown back. The Grunts were enormous today and there were plenty of them brought in.
The weather was a bit bumpy in the morning, but turned out beautiful. Limited out, everybody aboard today had nothing but praise for the Captain and crew.
“A very good trip” and “I will never fish on another boat” were a couple of comments I heard today.
