It was the “official” last day for Gag Grouper today, so the Gulfstar along with passengers and crew were eager to get out there to get their fishing on!

The weather was absolutely perfect. Smooth actually according to Capt. Mitch.

Bob Selby who described the weather as “grey”, brought in his first Amberjack ever.

Although it was a short, he was still excited.”it was a joyous occasion” he said referring to the entire day.

Grouper were plentiful and kept our passengers very busy.  Many shorts were brought in and there were just as many keepers. Over thirty five Gags, to be precise. Along with nine Red Grouper, and well above two hundred Grey snapper or “grunts”.

A couple of Mangrove Snapper, Flounder, and even a Bluefish was in the mix.

Also caught and released today was a beautiful Hogfish. As heartbreaking as it is, season is now closed on these guys.

I always have fun talking with the passengers when they arrive at the dock. And while speaking with  Bobby Jr, he mentioned that he can’t wait to snatch up the Red Grouper on his next trip.

Which brings me to  our future schedule:

Capt Rich should be finished with the 2014 calendar any time, and you will be able to book future trips ASAP.

Its going to be an exciting year of fishing for the Gulfstar and our customers.

So keep checking back for some awesome trips that will be scheduled.

You won’t want to miss out!
