Captains Mitch and Mike took the sold-out Gulfstar out into beautiful conditions on the Gulf of Mexico with clear skies and calm seas. The fishing was pretty awesome too with a steady Gag and Red Grouper bite that produced well over 100 fish but only 10 sized up to keep. Our anglers got lots of forbidden Red Snapper activity as well, wrangling with nearly 150 fish that they unfortunately had to toss back till next June. 700+ Key West Grunts were caught to help fill their coolers as well as a nice Kingfish caught by Polski Jr. trolling on the way out. The day saw lots of elbow bending action but definitely not enough “keeping” action.
Mike G’s Gag Grouper was the Jackpot fish.
