The Florida Sport Fishing Association and Friends trip had favorable fishing weather and some sloppy seas on the way home.
Saturday morning started with a steady stream of mangrove snapper, scamp grouper, and porgies. Mango fishing was great the whole weekend but really got smoking on Saturday night with basically nonstop mangrove action for the whole night. The Gag Grouper were shy this trip, with only three keepers and some throwbacks. The Red Grouper also made a good showing but the season is closed… so we released them unharmed to bite another day. The Mangrove snapper jackpot winner was Zack from Hudson FL, and Joseph A. a member of the FSFA drilled the jackpot Gag Grouper. We also had a couple kingfish make their way aboard in an interesting fashion.
