On this week’s 24 hour trip, we saw a carbon copy of last weeks 44 hr. middle grounds trip’s snapper fishing. While the snapper bite was non stop, Margate’s and Scamp Grouper were hot too! Our anglers also caught and released some Red Snapper, Red Grouper and Amberjack. We started with a bumpy ride out, then the weather also cooperated and calmed down nicely for fishing. Captain Mitch put in a couple of extra hours fishing trying to put a few more Gag Grouper in the box, since the Gag Grouper fishing was definitely not up to par. Along with plenty of Mangrove Snapper, the coolers had assorted Porgies, Almaco jacks, Scamp Grouper, Margates, as well as Vermillion Snapper, giving the customers plenty to take home. Fair weather+full coolers= happy fisherman.
