It was a memorable adventure, to say the least for JNV Outfitters Private Charter. The strong winds going out and coming back didn’t stop fisherman from filling up there coolers to the top. The Mango bite from Friday night into Saturday morning was steady and continued Saturday afternoon under overcast skies with Gag, Red Grouper and lots of Porgies joining in. The American Red Snapper count was again off the charts and I know everyone aboard was wishing it was June so many of them could have been kept. A 50 lb. King Mackerel was caught and there was a lengthy fight with a Sandbar Shark said to be 150 lbs. While many of our crew and fisherman have experienced fishing in high winds and seas, it was quite a change for the newest Gulfstar member, Chef Ty. With the galley looking like a hurricane went through it on his first trip, I’m sure he never thought he would have to “chase” the food before cooking it! In spite of the weather it was a good trip and created great stories to tell.

Tight Lines!!
