Todays voyage started at 6:00 AM. A beautiful sunrise set the tone for the day and it looked to be a promising one.

The weather was perfect and the morning began with a bang. It was a combo of keepers and shorts that kept our anglers busy. Capt. Mitch started out in about eighteen feet of water and headed north as he hugged the coastline throughout the day.

As morning turned into afternoon, Miss Betsy had already limited out on Grouper.

“I was very happy!” she reports with a big smile on her face.

Lunch time rolled around, and as Joann cooked up a delicious lunch for everyone, the bite  stayed a steady one.

”Grouper flurries” is how capt. Mitch described the scene on deck.

Loads of Key West grunt were also in the mix of today’s overall catch. The last stop ended in about thirty feet of water. “they were biting on everything” one gentleman reported with excitement. Sardines, squid & live bait were all a hot pick today.

It was a thrilling day for first timer Jack Flenniten, he took home the jackpot with a sizeable gag!  Way to go Jack! click here for the pics of this trip

The day closed with a breathtaking sunset and a boatload of fish. “Just another day successful trip aboard the Gulfstar”  I would say.
