The weather man is at the top of many people’s “bad list” after today..The marine forecast given and the ACTUAL weather conditions were a sharp contrast.

The Morning started off with torrential rain. Capt. Mitch watched the radar intently and noticed that there was going to be a break in the storms. While feeling optimistic, he was looking forward to getting out of those downpours.

The skies finally started to clear. But not before the howling wind started. The gusts were clocked in at 40 mph while sustaining 30-35. At one point, the boys had 600 feet of anchor rope out. Joann reported whitecaps in the live well. Here was the forecast that was posted at 10:53 am Sat:

“I think the weather man forecasted the wrong zip code” was one of the comments made at the dock.

The fishing was actually pretty good. As rough as the conditions were, we still managed to catch some beauties. 55-60 feet of water is where he worked today and the fish were hungry for everything. Live bait, squid and sardines.

Not to many people were fishing until the last stop. Of course THATS when the sun came out and passengers were coming back to life.

A dozen out of 24 keepers were brought in at this time as well as an impressive 14 Red Grouper.

Many were lost, and many more could’ve been  captured if not for the crazy weather.

Miss Sheryl who used to own party boats herself was out with us, She got her limit of course and had a wonderful time in spite of the crappy conditions.
