After a couple months of awfully slow grouper fishing the bite is finally back to what we call fantastic fall gag grouper fishing.
This was a hot trip! Not temperature hot, but hot with action. The weather was great, the fishing even better.
Captain Mitch had this bunch of fisherman out today on the Gulfstar. He worked in about 30 feet of water.
The bite was on and steady throughout the day. The Grouper were hungry and lively as they were brought in at a steady pace all day.
Besides the maxed out Grouper catch, some other species were also boated including a MONSTER Redfish, and a beautiful Hog fish.
Some nice Sea bass were also mixed in with the big number of Grunts brought in.
Nancy and her husband were out with us and left with their limit of Gags and the winning beautiful size Grouper.
Some regulars including Tom, Carl and his son and the rest of the passengers were very happy as they ALL departed with their limit of Gag Grouper.
“Epic fishing” and “fantastic day” were a couple of the comments heard on the dock.
We still have plenty of Grouper tags to last until the end of the year. We will also have special permit tags for 2015 and the Gag fishing usually remains red hot all winter long right into the spring.
