The beautiful weather set the scene for some awesome Red Snapper and Grouper fishing. Captain Mitch and Captain James were on their game as the fishing started out slow but ended up fantastic. 90 to 200 feet of water is what Captain Mitch reported as the depths of water that were fished.

The Red Snapper and Mangrove Snapper that were brought in were very nice sized and plentiful.  There was a dolphin circling the boat who also was a fan of The Mangrove Snapper. According to Carlos, he was assaulted by the playful critter. “he took about 300 yards of my braid” as he battled back and forth, the dolphin finally left him alone and Carlos ended up with some awesome fish, Including three large Kingfish, some huge Vermilion Snapper, Lane Snapper, and a beautiful Gag.

Dennie had the catch of a lifetime. He hooked in to a HUGE Goliath Grouper. Using 65pound  line, the monster was an estimated 8 foot long and about 500 lbs. One fellow fisherman said it looked like a manatee. “If not for James and the crew, I would of given up” “all I know is that my arms hurt!” commented Dennie.

Chris was also thrilled with his 30 inch Red Grouper and nice size Strawberry Grouper as well. Bob was a happy camper as he went home with the largest Mangrove Snapper jackpot and Norman hit the money with the largest Gag. So, another successful haul for the Gulfstar came to an end until the next trip…
