Here we go again…out for another 2 day adventure.  The crew this trip included Captains Mitch & James (who also helped deck side) Ryan was on deck. Emily also made her first trip as part time deckhand. And of course Joann was working the Galley as well as helping out during fish time.

The weather conditions were beautiful.  They had the familiar summer time heat wave and calm seas. No red tide this go around which was a welcome relief.

The “catching” was spot on with plenty of beautiful American Red Snapper to go around. Some sizeable Gag and Red Grouper were also caught. Mangroves Snapper and Porgies also filled the gaps.

There was some action on deck when Jim hooked in to a 350LB Goliath Grouper. “it was a 30-40 min fight” he said.  And it broke his pole!! We both talked about how catching a Goliath was a life long dream for us both. Now its MY turn!

Marianne and her Son in law Drew had a blast with a full cooler of fish including a Kingfish. This was there first 2 Day on the Gulfstar and will surely be back.

Trent was with us and boated his first American Red Snapper AND Gag Grouper. Woo hoo! One of our favorite regulars, Heath was out and had a great trip.

He hooked  in to a nice size Amber Jack but it had to be released because they are out of season .He also went home with the largest Kingfish. Deckhand Ryan getting a hook in his finger( #2 for 2014) , was also part of the action.

Lots of happy fisherman departed the vessel today.Allie was one of the happiest due to his two prize winning fish. Snapper ad Gag categories were the two Jackpots that he went home with.
