The departure time was noon and the weather was very beautiful and inviting for a fishing excursion.

It held out until Friday night and that’s when the weather got dicey. It blew pretty good and the air was cold. But  Friday brought the MONSTER action with the two beautiful Warsaw Grouper that were boated.IMG_1845

Captain Jerry was on fire working in depths of 210 to 600 feet with the average being 240 feet. “those Warsaw were caught in 578 feet of water” he replied.

The fish variety was amazing. A beautiful Kitty Mitchell was included and was also the jackpot fish for Tom in the largest Grouper category. Tom was also named honorary “token” for one of the Warsaw  teams.

The large variety of fish included Queen Snapper, Yellowedge, large Gags. Red Grouper, Scamp, Kingfish, Porgie, Trigger fish, huge African Pompano, Amberjack, and Mutton Snapper one being the jumbo who won the Snapper jackpot compliments of Leroy.

The bite was on through out the entire trip.

This was an action packed fun filled trip. With lots of fish to go around and plenty of compliments as well:

“From the Captain in the wheelhouse to the cook in the Galley the  Gulfstar is the best boat from Alaska to Key West” said Leroy and the rest of the Urban Anglers.

“great fun ALWAYS on the Gufstar” and “Captain Jerry worked hard to fill our coolers”

I would sum this up as one incredible fish catching good time.
