What a picture perfect day of fishing. We departed around 11:00 AM with sunny skies above and just a bit of a cool nip in the air. The way out was entertaining as we had some dolphin putting on a show. Got a great shot of our new friends Art & Luke watching from the stern (click here for photos) We also spotted about three Sea turtles on the way out.

The water around the island was very dirty, lots of mud. We went out further today to escape this mess. We ended up fishing in about 45 feet of water. The Grunts or Grey Snapper were plentiful and the majority of them were huge. A few nice Porgies were caught as well as a couple of Flounder. A half dozen throw back Red Grouper were also brought in and released.

And then there were the Gag Grouper….I can not beleive how many were caught! “Debbie” and her cousin “Blossom” had a blast with their boys. Both girls caught Gags today.

Another group from the Carolinas brought in a couple nice ones too. Captain Mitch even snagged one, hooked him right on the back of his head!(see picture)

I also got a whopper that sadly had to be released 🙁

There was a nice couple from New Jersey aboard who also did very well. Barbara and Dave are their names, and I am proud to say that Barbara out fished her hubby today! It was definitely a day for the girls on the boat to shine!

Weather wise,by mid day, it warmed up nicely but as we headed in, the cooler temperatures returned.

What a beautiful day to be deep sea fishing. Great weather, great company and great times!
