Well, we got in another nice trip in between these relentless cold fronts. Surprisingly, it was beautiful out on the Gulf today.

Fishing  depths varied between 55 and 65 feet of water. Many fish were caught today. Captain Mitch estimated about forty keeper  Gags were brought in and unfortunately had to be tossed back. Today’s venture was not one of our  “special permit” trips. Dag nab it!!                               Speaking with some folks dockside, it was clear that all were thrilled with this fishing trip.

“Ken” was kept busy with the monster grunts and got one Red Grouper that was a hair short. Nonetheless, he says  he will be back in two weeks, already booked the trip.   So, it went like this…lots of Grunts, a dozen or so keeper Red Grouper, too many keeper size Gags, some Porgies, a couple of small Amberjack and one monster octopus. Oh, and Jeremy caught a seagull! (safely released)

“Tino” went home with the jackpot Red Grouper this evening!  Everybody was happy, and bellies kept full all day long with the delicious food that Joann cooked up.

“Deck hands were outstanding” was a comment I heard as well as “the cook spoiled us”!  “Doesn’t get any better than this” another man replied.  So, it was obviously another awesome day aboard the Gulfstar!   Yay!!!    Until the next trip….stay warm!!
