The East Coast Crankers joined us for their annual fishing charter aboard the Gulfstar. Their adventure started Monday afternoon with some trolling on their way to the grounds that produced several nice size Kingfish. Monday night through Tuesday morning, anglers picked off some Red, Gag, Yellowedge, Scamp and Snowy Grouper. Tuesday afternoon saw Mango Snappers in decent numbers and a slower pick of American Red Snapper and Red Grouper that continued into Wednesday morning. Throughout the trip plenty of Red and Jolthead Porgies, Lane and Vermillion Snappers also made their way into coolers. The high point of the trip was on Monday night/Tuesday morning when Rodney Groves of Raleigh NC landed the biggest slob of a Cubera Snapper, weighing in at 119.2 lbs beating the 116 lb Florida state record and just shy of the world record of 124lb 12oz Cubera caught in Louisiana. So technically, this Fish is bigger than most anyone in the world has ever seen!! The trip was a huge success, with plenty of fish stories to go around and a bucket list trip of a lifetime for all that participated!!

Fish On!!

Trish.
