We had a noon departure with clear skies and visions of Red Snapper dancing in our heads.

After a six hour run, we made it to the fishing grounds where the bite was incredible. The depths ranged from 120 to 139 feet. It was GAME ON!

We had a steady bite of Red Snapper, Vermillion Snapper and Porgies. We basically got pooped out after a few of hours. So the tired and hungry fisherman took a dinner break and went to town on Joann’s delicious Pork Chops and Chicken alfredo pasta.

This gave us (Ryan and myself) to get the “sea of Red Snapper” squared away. There were Red Snapper everywhere!  With some help from “Tim” we were all set and ready to continue with the fishing frenzy.

We wrapped up the first drop with some sizable Vermillion Snapper and monster Porgies.

The fishing continued to be steady throughout the trip. Other Species boated were a Black fin Tuna, a couple of Flounder, numerous   Mangrove Snapper, a few beautiful sized Gag Grouper. A dozen or so Amberjack were also caught, one weighed in at about 60 LBS boated by Bill. (He was ready for his nap after that fight.)

Besides the incredible fishing, we had some great laughs with this fantastic group. Tim was his usual colorful self and “Smitty” kept us on our toes with his mischievous antics and infectious laughter.

Danny went home with visions of lost Goliath Groupers in his head along with the Mango Jackpot while Tim took home the largest Gag Grouper prize.

Good times, great fishing!
