Carl and his group joined the Gulfstar Crew for a three day trip to the Middle Grounds. Capt.’s Mitch and James reported beautiful weather dotted with scattered showers and storms that gave the group a reprieve from the heat on mostly gentle seas. Upon arrival to the grounds Wednesday evening, anglers had a good Mango pick in depths of around 110 feet. At sunrise on Thursday they headed to deeper waters and had a good start but the area became unfishable within a just a few hours when the current picked up. They returned to shallower waters and had a steady stream of  Mango Snapper, a decent amount of Porgies, Vermillion and Lane Snapper and a few Gag and Red Grouper and Kingfish. They finished up the trip Friday night into the early hours of Saturday with a steady bite of Mangos and Gags and then a bumpy ride home. The pool winning fish were Neil Burtons’ Gag Grouper and a tie between Joe Kaminer and Mike Poulard with their Mango Snapper twins.

Fish On!!
