Holy Gag Grouper Batman! This was a kick a** trip…the morning hours on the Gulf brought 3- 4 foot rollers that made for a “swinging” ride out. But by afternoon, the waters were flat as a pancake.   (due to the number of photos,it may take a few moments for the slide show to begin below)

It was Grouper galore. Each stop today produced a steady flow of Gags. Many shorts and MANY keepers. The same went for The Red Grouper. The Grunts were plentiful as well. Some short Scamps and even a cute little Hog Fish was caught and released.

A”mystery” fish was hooked and kept one passenger and crew busy with a back and forth fight. At one point, the fish took all the line off the spool! This went on for a while, but the fish got away without being identified. Capt. Mitch speculates that it was a giant Cobia.

The Gulfstar left with  twenty five passengers aboard today and came home with all twenty five, plus fifty head of Gag Grouper. And some BEAUTIFUL Red Grouper too!  ( Danny took the jackpot on todays trip with a HUGE Gag)

Compliments about not only the phenomenal fishing experience were given, but much praise for the Captain and crew! One gentleman was so impressed with Joann in the galley, that he wanted to marry her. Woo hoo!! Good times!!!!
