Leaving a thunderstorm behind them, Capt’s James and Mike headed out into the warm steamy Gulf of Mexico with a nice group of our “regular” customers all ready for an elbow bending trip. There was a well paced steady bite on the first night of fishing with our anglers picking Yellow Tail, Mangrove and Vermillion Snappers and playing catch and release with more than a few dozen American Red Snapper. The grouper got in on the action by the 2nd day with our anglers bringing in some nice Red, Gag and Scamp grouper as well as Vermillion and Lane Snapper and Porgy’s and even dozens more of the off limits Red Snapper, Triggerfish and Amberjacks. The 2nd night brought more of the same as the first, but there must have been a Vermillion convention in town because it was quite the battle fishing through all of the B-liners to get to the Mango’s.
