Capts James and Mike report another glorious Golden Grounds trip with 22 different species hitting the decks of the Gulfstar. The first night saw a hot Yellow Tail Snapper bite with some Blackfin Tuna, Mango’s, King Mackeral, Vermillion and Red and Knobbed Porgy’s mixed in. Although a Nice Kitty Mitchell and beautiful Yellowedge Grouper started the 2nd day off, fishing was a little slow so it was voted to head inshore where they picked up some nice Red and Scamp Grouper and more Tuna. The 2nd night saw a slow but steady pick of even more Yellowtails, Mangrove Snapper, Gag Grouper, Tuna and Kings. Nate and Larry both wrangled in beautiful African Pompano’s, and Larry hit big again with a huge Cubera Snapper but it didn’t take long for Chris to catch an even bigger one. Our anglers wrestled with and returned a bunch of short Red Grouper, forbidden Amberjack and Red Snapper and threw Bonito’s, Sand Tilefish, Lionfish, Red & Rock Hind and Spanish Mackeral in their coolers.
Pool Winners were Chris’ Cubera Snapper and Doug’s Yellowedge Grouper.
