Weather….so let’s be honest, the weather so far this June has been a tough one. These summer squalls have brought some tough winds with them. We did have a couple hours on this trip where the weather was very nice, but other than that we have been getting our butt kicked. Thankfully even through the crazy, unpredictable winds and seas we are still managing to catch fish. We did very well on the red snapper bite this trip with the boat limiting out once again. The Red and Gag groupers also bit pretty well and 100+ each of B-liners and Mango’s were wrangled in. We also boated 4 Rock Hind, a dozen Scamps and bunches of Red Porgy’s to accompany everyone’s limit of red snapper. So again, the weather on this trip again was pretty tough. We had an average of 20kt winds throughout the trip with it still being a lot greater when the squalls come through. The mangrove fishing on this trip had been the toughest so far this season. Despite those negatives, coolers were full and customers as happy with their catch as much as they were happy to be back on land after this one. Tight Lines! Capt Garrett
