Capt. Mitch reported HOT weather and calm seas during the trips entirety. The first stop late Friday night into Saturday morning anglers found lots of Mango Snapper and Gag Grouper and a few Yellowedge Snapper. Early Saturday morning a three hour steam was made and Red and Gag Grouper as well as Red Snapper and John T.’s barnacle filled fishing rod made there way onto the deck. Although the Red Snapper action was a bit slower this trip some 40 fish were kept from this stop. Saturday night into Sunday morning finished up with a Mango Massacre and a mix of Lane and Vermillion Snapper and John T.’s stray Kingfish. The Winners pool was hot as well with very close contenders; a digital scale had to be the judge in one category! Biggest Mango (the closest match) was between John T. and Javiar, with Javiar taking it by mere grams (guess John T. cant have it all lol!). Richard and Darius’ Gag Groupers resulted with Richard coming out on top at over 27 lbs.
