I hope everyone has had a wonderful week! From our previous email and posts sent, we ended up needing to move our trip to 3/8/2023 due to weather. We ended up going out with a full boat! While it was a sunny trip, we had a pretty bumpy ride, due to swells and waves on our way out to the Middle Grounds. Our day of fishing Thursday consisted of the same weather, but a beautiful red moon peeked after sunset and it was flat calm up until our ride back home.

It was a very interesting trip. Fishing was on the slower side on our our day of fishing on 3/9. We picked up a bunch of Red Snappers, which we know we cannot keep at the moment. We had some Porgies, Mango snappers, and smaller Red Grouper. As soon as the sun set, we got in on the action. Captain Rich and second captain Garret made sure to put us on the fish. Our customers were reeling in plenty of keeper Red Groupers, as well as Lane, B-Liner’s and Mango Snappers. We also caught a variety of porgies, from Saucer eye porgies to Jolt head porgies, all of which are tasty and abundant this time of year! We also, funny enough, were hammering the Gag Groupers. They make for a great picture, but again they were all vented and safely released. One of our customers also reeled in a nice sized Goliath Grouper, but it was also vented and safely released.

A Red Grouper and Mango snapper won our fishing pool.

The weather is unpredictable this time of year, but we are happy to be going out again! Although weather was not on our side the whole trip, all the customers stuck it out and we shared lots of laughs, and better yet they all had full coolers.

We thank everyone for joining us on these memory making trips, and for being so patient with us as we are working on our website and making updates to our beloved Gulfstar. We want everyone to have an awesome experience with us.
