Captains Mitch, James and the almost sold out Gulfstar headed out into the Gulf of Mexico under spectacular weather condition with clear skies, light breezes and calm seas. An anomaly for sure, but a welcome one, in the month of December. The 1st night of fishing was hot with a fiery Mango chomp, a pick of a dozen Gag Grouper and some nice Kingfish as well. Daylight brought a slower but productive bite Red and Gag Grouper, some Porgies and way too many forbidden American Red Snapper were tossed back. On the last night the Mango’s weren’t as hungry as the first but had some size to them, a nice batch of B-Liners got into the mix as well as more Gags and Kings.

Shawn’s Mangrove Snapper and Jeff C’s Gag Grouper were the Jackpot fish! Congrats!

Happy Fishing!
