Despite having only 8 passengers signed up for this trip, Capt Rich sent the Gulfstar out with Capt. James at the wheel to do some Grouper digging. Beautiful weather, flat calm seas and a light breeze were on tap for the day. Our anglers saw a lot of action with more than 30 Gag Grouper and Greg A. was lucky enough to catch the 4 keepers including the Jackpot fish. The Red Grouper bite was hot too but there were many break-offs and way too many that were undersized. American Reds got into the mix of what had to be tossed back along with 3 just shy of legal Cobia’s, some gorgeous Amberjacks and a few Scamp Grouper. On the bright side some nice sized Lane Snapper, Black Sea Bass and 6 dozen Key West Grunts made it into some coolers.
