Longtime Gulfstar Captain, Jerry, joined Capt. Mitch and the crew for this sold out trip. The weather could not have been more beautiful nor the seas any calmer and it stayed that way until the ride home. The picture perfect conditions were not the only thing worth celebrating, the bite stayed off the chain on every stop, helping to fill everyone’s coolers to the brim. Deepwater fishing produced 30+ Gray Tilefish some Bigeye Toro, a bunch of Mutton Snapper, a handful of Yellowedge Grouper, and a 4 nice Kitty Mitchell’s but returning 3 to the sea. The fishing on the elbow was frustrated by the 50+ forbidden Red Snapper getting in the way of landing some nice sized Lesser Amberjack, a couple dozen Scamp Grouper, a couple hundred Red and Jolthead Porgies, good-sized Keeper Gag and Red Grouper, 5 Black Fin Tuna, as well as a hundred or so each of Yellowtail and Vermillion Snapper.

Eric’s Mutton Snapper and William H’s Gag Grouper were the Jackpot Fish.

Happy Fishing!
