We left the dock Thursday with a light load of excited anglers to start our long haul south towards the Dry Tortugas. The weather on this trip was a little tough, actually, it was a lot rougher than forecasted. The wind blew throughout the trip and made some challenging conditions for us including getting as many pictures as we normally would like to have. The long ride gave us the opportunity, so we made a couple of stops looking for red snapper but initially had no takers. So we continued our trip a little further south to keep looking for muttons. Throughout the trip, we caught a combination of mutton’s, red snapper, gag grouper, yellowtail, vermillions, porgies, red grouper (released), blackfin tuna, Mahi, and monster amberjacks. Mutton fishing was tough this trip, but luckily everyone is coming home with at least one, and it turns out that 3 of the lucky anglers caught their first mutton snapper ever on this trip. We limited out on Red Snapper in record time and will be returning to that southern spot again! The deep dropping for snowy grouper on this trip, unfortunately, just did not happen due to the weather. We’ll get em’ the next time! Until then… Tight Lines! Capt Garrett
